The story

As I was born with a remarcable interest in all animals it's no suprise that all kinds of pets came along during my childhood. But it always were horses and dogs who where my biggest passion. I am very lucky to be able to ride horses for a living and making this dream come true. And also to be able to so activly be involved with breeding and showing Labradors.

It all started when our first dog came into our family when I was five years old, even at that age I had heavily pushed my parents into searching for a dog. This first dog was a Beagle and when I was older it became my personal challenge to train him. Later I have done herding with Border Collies, and when I was in college I trained policedogs as a hobby.

After a few years of studying and working were there was no time for dogs I started to look for a breed that would fit my lifestyle better than the high energy breeds I was used to. The Labrador Retriever turned out to be the most perfect outcome. Smart, athletic but sensible and sweet, this dog fits me perfectly. After a day of enough exercise and activity's they will all fall in sleep around me in the evening.

It is one of my main goals to maintain or when possible to improve this wonderful sweet and active character. Also health is a very important issue in breeding to keep a very close eye on. I strive to breed dogs that fit the breedingstandard as perfectly as possible. Therefor I can be found on dogshows regularly.

Every now and then we have a litter of pups bred under our kennelname Wahnahnish. "Lake Wahnahnish" can be found near Labrador City, Newfoundland, Canada. And as it's where the origin of the breed lays, it was the perfect name for me.
